The second annual Shema Christian Family Conference, August 21-22, 2009 is now history. People from twelve different states came together for the teaching and fellowship of this great event: Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. Many people left saying this one even surpassed the 2008 Shema Conference.
Here's a sampling of what attendees had to say about Shema 2009:
"Thank you so much for hosting this conference. May the Lord supply all your needs by His riches in Glory. Our family has been strengthened, indeed!"
"An excellent balance of 'spiritual' vs. 'academic' teaching is being achieved. Keep up the good work."
"Bro. Pixler (and all the rest!) were wonderful!"
"Praise God for your ministry to families like ours! Your reward will surely be great in heaven!"
"I absolutely enjoyed myself. My family and I are lifetime supporters of the Shema Conference."
"I was truly blessed by this conference. The time here of praise & worship, fellowship, and good teaching was great. Thank you!"
What was most meaningful to attendees?
"Fellowship ~ time for comradery and like-minded 'brain-picking'"
"It's really hard to say. I think I really needed it all."
"Being able to get together with other Apostolic young people & worshipping God together."
"Bro. Pixler's teaching was top-notch, but all of the sessions were rewarding and a blessing."
"The Spirit of the LORD, the teaching of the Word of God."
"The emphasis on balance between church and home."
"The worship and fellowship. The classes were wonderful, but it was really good to see other Apostolic home schoolers."
"As a whole, the conference itself is most meaningful above other events. Specifically, good fellowship with fellow believers is irreplaceable!"
"All of it!"
Many thanks to Leeman Stevens and Brent Williams for taking pictures, and to Ben Vanderhoff for choosing and preparing them for publication.
