1870s architecture at its best, here Clarksville's beauty and historical significance comes alive. The District includes the county courthouse, public square, and churches with elegant stained glass as well as 19th century houses. Restaurants, antiques stores, and boutiques among others are all part of The District.

Situated on 40 beautifully landscaped, rolling acres, this living history museum is comprised of 15 restored log homes and outbuildings dating from 1830 to 1870. All of the structures have authentic furnishings. A new exhibit, the Irby-Bumpus Wildlife and Native American Center, featuring their collection of prehistoric Native American artifacts and a sampling of the wonderful variety of animals that have roamed the ancient forests in the Cumberland River Valley. Picnic areas and walking trails are also on-site.

The Homeplace

The Homeplace 1850 is a living, working historical farm located in Pryor Hollow near the old community of Model, Tennessee, now part of the LBL (Land Between the Lakes). One of the most popular attractions in the LBL, the Homeplace 1850 features real people working on the farm doing various activities.
Open daily April 1 ~ October 31, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission $4.00 for ages 13 and up, $2.00 for ages 5 ~ 12, and 4 and under, free.
Golden Pond Planetarium
The Golden Pond Planetarium and Observatory, located at the Visitor's Center, is one of those really unique things that you just have to see while exploring the LBL. The planetarium features daily programs for $5.00 per person. You can learn about the skies over Kentucky or get up-close and personal with the Milky Way.
Elk and Bison Prairie
Located on the Trace near the Visitor's Center in the LBL, the Elk & Bison Prairie is a must see. The drive-through prairie gives visitors an up-close and personal look at the mammoth bison and the graceful elk. Exhibits dot the three-mile trip through the prairies explaining the significance of these animals along with the other present native wildlife. $5.00 per car.
Kentucky Lake Drive
This is a short, three-mile drive located in the northern end of the LBL near the canal. Accessible via The Trace, Kentucky Lake Drive will take you to several overlooks on Kentucky Lake. Picnic areas are along this route as well as hiking and biking trails. This is a must-see for anyone driving through the Kentucky Lakes Area!
Horseback Riding, Walking and Biking Trails
Numerous trails are available for biking, both cycling and mountain biking, throughout the Land Between the Lakes.
