Question: How early or late should you start?

Answer: Remember what home schooling is? (See our article "What is Home Schooling?") You start home schooling from conception. What changes is the topics of instruction and the ability of the child to receive what you are giving him. Your task is to love your child, observe him closely, interact with him sensibly, and walk with God.

Your state has its own laws that determine when you will need to communicate with officials on what you are doing, but they shouldn't be determining how you decide what to teach and when.
