The Social Network
"I'm the only home school family in my church."
"I'm so glad I found you. I knew there had to be other Apostolic home schoolers out there somewhere."
"Do you know if there are any Apostolic home schoolers in my area?"
There are comments we frequently hear from new contacts. The need for us to connect is immense. With that in mind, and with encouragement from a number of people, we now have a social network just for Apostolic home schoolers.
Core Values
This social network exists for the purpose of connecting Apostolic Home School families for fellowship encouragement, announcement of events, and discussion of issues of concern to the membership. All applicants for membership must affirm that they are committed to our Core Values.
1) The Bible: All members believe that the Bible, in its entirety, is the inspired Word of God without error. It defines the true Christian faith and is the final authority on all matters of doctrine, practice, and polity.
2) The Oneness of God: All members agree that God is one and it was this same One Who came in the flesh, lived without sin, laid down His life, rose from the dead, ascended into heaven, and poured out of His own Spirit on the Day of Pentecost. In Him dwells all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. The name Jesus is the only name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved.
3) The Gospel of Jesus Christ: All members agree that the gospel is the message that Jesus Christ died for our sins, was buried, rose again on the third day, and appeared to many. The correct response to this message is to repent, be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit with the sign of speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. This new birth experience is the doorway into salvation and everlasting life.
4) Holiness of Life: All members agree that once a person is born again, he or she must continue on in a life of faith and holiness. While we accept that there will be some differences in how each person understands this requirement, all members agree that it includes commitment to prayer, fasting, Bible study, worship, Biblical morality, modesty of dress, purity of spirit, humility of mind, honesty of words, and brotherly love.
5) Home Education: All members must be home schoolers. This includes 1) currently home schooling parents, 2) currently home schooling young people, 3) veteran home school parents whose children are now adults, 4) home school graduates, and 5) those who are planning to home educate.
6) State Groups: All members are encouraged to join a group for residents of their state (or begin a group if there is not currently one) to facilitate connecting those who live near each other.
7) All posts must be written in a spirit that promotes the above core values. Comments that are sarcastic, bitter, belittling, or in any way disruptive to the unity of the network will not be tolerated.
We welcome all who are committed to the above Core Values.
